Legends & Icons is a restaurant and sports bar located just of the I-10 freeway in Palm Desert, CA. Even though most of my work is in the real estate sector I love the freedom and creativity that comes with shooting food. The bright and bold colors, the composition and the light are only a few of the wonderful things that make food look appealing and give you that feeling of sinking your teeth into the picture. Hopefully in the near future I would have another opportunity to work with food and create shots like these.

One of the curses of photographing these delicious dishes is that you can't eat! At one point I was looking at the couple that was sitting a table a few feet away and the gentleman had this puzzling look on his face almost to say 'Boy, you gonna eat that or just look at it'? So being the ultimate professional that I am I just kept clicking away. Most of these shots where done with natural light and then I added a bit of artificial light to get rid of any harsh shadows that I didn't want. I've learned by now that when it comes to any kind of photography the fundamentals stays the same. I use the same techniques that I do for my real estate shoots to do my food shots and I use my food shoot fundamentals for my portraits. The creative aspect comes into play when you do your compositions, you exposures etc.
